45 Inspirational Mental Health Quotes That Are Relatable

6 min read

Looking after our mental health is one of the most important factors to our overall health. The CDC explains that our mental health affects most aspects of our life including our emotional, psychological and social well-being. In fact, it’s more common to be diagnosed with a mental health illness than you might think. According to the CDC, “More than 50% will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime.”

Even though we know that it’s common, there are still a lot of stigmas that surrounds mental illness. The American Psychiatric Association explains that more than half of people with a mental illness do not receive help for their disorders. “Often, people avoid or delay seeking treatment due to concerns about being treated differently or fears of losing their jobs and livelihood,” the APA states. Luckily, there are organizations like Stamp Out Stigma, Bring Change to Mind and several other campaigns that are encouraging conversations around mental wellbeing.

In light of raising awareness, we have gathered some powerful mental health quotes that we hope you find comforting and encouraging on days that may be more difficult than others. We even have quotes on anxiety and inspirational quotes that you may find helpful as well. While these sayings may help alleviate some of what you’re feeling, we advise that you speak with a licensed therapist who can help you with long-term coping mechanisms.

If you are in search for someone to talk to or helpful resources, we have a few guides, including: how to find a therapist, expert-recommended therapy apps and online support groups. In addition, you can visit mhanational.org and in an acute crisis or an emergency, please call the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988, or text “HOME” to 741741 .
